What's the difference?

Procedural Math
Addressing the "how" to do a math problem.
Memorizing what steps to take in solving a math problem.
Applying procedures to solve a math problem.
Conceptual Math
Addressing the "why" in math procedures taken to solve a problem.
Understanding and interpreting concepts in math problems.
Building upon prior math knowledge for problem-solving.
At Why Hate Math we focus on combining both procedural math and conceptual math. Our tutors do this to give students a full view of understanding how to solve a math problem as well as why those steps are being taken.
